NZ Hi-Tech Company Leader of the Year

Welcome to Greentree

A hive of activityWellington User Group -
Big Thanks to Jay and Welcome Nicky

Around 30 Greentree users gathered at the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club on October 5th with refreshments kindly hosted by Enabling Technologies.

Elizabeth Sandford and Philip Morgan from Enabling overviewed areas of new Greentree functionality including Approvals and Alerts, the new Qlikview Business Intelligence system, many other recent enhancements and an evaluation of the General Ledger and Cashbook modules.

A huge vote of thanks went to Jay Wester of Excel-Hepworth for convening the group for the last 4 years. Nicky Katsanos from the Alcohol Advisory Council of New Zealand has “volunteered” to be the new organiser and she can be contacted at n.katsanos@alac.org.nz or phone +64 4 9170744.

Christchurch User Group Meeting

Recently another productive User Group meeting was well attended in Christchurch. Graham Hill updated the attendees on all the latest and greatest functionality from Greentree and what was being worked on in the immediate future.

Chris Miller then gave a thorough presentation on the Workflow and Approval & Alert modules which was very well received. Most companies could see how they could derive real benefit within their organisations from the implementation of these modules.

Jenny Morris who headed up the User Group session said the Organising Committee was still looking for additional volunteers. Jackie Stephenson a long time CBA / Greentree stalwart has put her name forward to get involved. a

success all roundCustomer Success Stories

An essential element of Greentree communication with the market is our Customer stories. It’s widely acknowledged that these references build image, recognition, awareness and assurance. These customer testimonials are used in a variety of environments to communicate vital influential messages, important to current and potential new customers.

Do email us if your company is willing to commit to a success story, they're a great way of increasing your marketing exposure through our newsletters, press releases and general marketing material.

The stories often outline ‘how the implementation went'? ‘what modules the customer bought and why'? ‘what difference Greentree has made to the business'? and 'what they hope to get from the solution in the future'? Greentree has an impressive raft of customer reference sites but obviously we are always keen to develop more.

We know prospective customers use the testimonials of current Greentree customers (they tell us) and these no doubt serve to raise confidence during the decision making process. We would like to thank all the Greentree customers and partners that have gone through the process of helping us create these success stories. Here's some recent customer profiles:

ManufacturingManufacturing - Forecasting

Greentree’s Forecasting and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software was initially designed to cater for manufacturing sites requiring a simple to use process, but one that can calculate the complex algorithms required to determine material requirements and drive manufacturing and purchasing decisions.

From the benefits gained by our manufacturing customers we quickly established that similar benefits could be gained by customers that do not manufacture but have large inventory purchasing requirements.

As a result we have removed the Manufacturing dependencies, to enable Inventory customers to take advantage of Forecasting and MRP capabilities, without having to purchase the Manufacturing (BOM) module.

Any of the three main Manufacturing modules of Manufacturing (BOM), MRP or Forecasting can now function as a single standalone module, or operate together in any combination, to provide detailed planning information based on sales orders and/or a forecast.

Note that the Planning Board module is still dependent on Manufacturing (BOM) as it is designed to display Factory Orders.

Recently Microsoft released the latest version of its web browser - Internet Explorer 7 (IE7). One of the main features of this release is the ability to have multiple tabs or browser sessions open concurrently on one screen.

Inline with Greentree’s desire to be compatible with the latest windows software, IE7 has been successfully used with Greentree’s WebStore module.top

Windows VistaVISTA

X –Box creators (do they still do ERP software?) Microsoft are gearing up for a series of high profile product launches early in 2007. The focus of these will be the latest windows operating system called ‘Vista’.
The Vista website can be found here.

Here’s a snippet from the Vista website:Windows Vista introduces breakthrough computing experiences that are both visually exciting and intuitively designed, and will positively change the ways in which you use your PC.’ This translates to mean graphics; interaction and accessibility are to the fore.

It’s inevitable that a lot of PC users will be experiencing Vista in 2007. Realistically, vendors will need to attune their hardware and software offerings accordingly. This will take some a lot longer than others. Being ‘very very responsive’ Greentree has already undergone testing under a Vista platform. So far all looks good! This testing will continue; no problems are expected.

QAEnsuring top Quality products reach your customers!

Shortly we will release our new module designed to allow manufacturing and distribution customers to automate their Quality Control processes for serial/lot tracked items.

Greentree’s Quality Control module provides you the ability to design tests, group these within test classifications and then assign these to serial/lot tracked Inventory items as well as non Inventory items.

When Inventory is received from the manufactory floor or receiving dock, the relevant test suite can be automatically generated and only on successful completion of those tests, plus optional secondary approval, are these items made available for sale.

Tests can also be designed and used to monitor and approve a range of environmental or process based measures that may not be specifically related to Inventory. For example, the temperature and humidity of a laboratory.

Greentree’s Quality Control module has been designed to support use of our Approvals and Alerts module to deliver automatic notification of test requirements as well as multi level approvals.

Approvals and AlertsApprovals and Alerts -
Powerful Control

Recently a prospective customer asked how Greentree could meet a business requirement that was specific and important to them.

The Business Need
The customer wanted to cover the following situations:

  • Any Purchase Order valued between $2000 and $5000 must be approved by the Purchasing Manager.
  • Any Purchases Orders greater than $5000 must be approved by the CFO.
  • Once each Purchase Order is approved, they then required that the Purchase Order status changed from “Request for Quote” to “Entered” and the person who raised the Purchase Order was notified so they could then print or fax the Purchase order.

The Solution
Greentree’s Workflow Approvals and Alerts provides the ability to establish user defined rules that are automatically monitored and actioned.  This customer's requirement requires a simple approval rules to manage the process as follows. This is easily setup as a form driven rule.
