Greentree's super-integration clinches buy decision ahead of SAP, Navision & Pronto

Estimating, calculating and quoting labour costs are core business activities for Armflame, a gas and pipe installation company in Queensland, Australia. It is not then surprising that John Todd, Armflame's CEO, required any new software system to automatically calculate and charge back payroll costs to the job without having to re-key data. What was surprising for John was that only a handful of software vendors had actually figured this out. Read more>>top

Currency Translation Consolidation

Greentree is constructing a new Currency Translation functionality to enhance their Global Finance suite. Currency translations may be used independently or in conjunction with the Consolidations module. Translation is the process whereby the General Ledger of a company is reported in another currency at a user specified exchange rate. The Reporting Currency Rates are being enhanced to provide for additional user defined rates to be used by the Translations process.

The translation process may be run at any time in a period and may be run multiple times at different rates. A single company may be translated into multiple currencies always based on the ledger value. The translated values may be extracted in a consolidation run by flagging a company combination to use these values when consolidating.top

Inventory Labeling

Proper labeling plays a big part in inventory management. An organisation that maintains individual stock items can benefit from correct labeling. The ability to clearly read scanned items makes it much simpler to detect mistakes as well as to prevent any errors from happening in the first place, thus reducing the possibility of a breakdown in the system.

Greentree's new inventory label printing function enables users to print item labels automatically from any programme enabling receipts. Such programmes include Purchase Order Receipt/Shipment Entry, Accounts Payable Invoice Entry, Factory Orders Receipt Entry, Inventory Transaction Entry and Kitset Make-to-Stock programmes.

Labels can be printed in duplicate based on a received quantity. It could also be printed singularly where an item is packaged in such a way that only one label is required, e.g. a pallet label. Standard receiving labels cater for the output of item & receipt transaction detail, barcodes, location, and serial/lot data. Retail labeling is also supported via this feature, with the inclusion of a standard retail label that outputs an item price. Labels may also be customised to meet the specific requirements of the organisation.top

Business as Usual

While there are lots of discussions around major projects such as Business Process Management and Mobile Applications, the wheels continue to turn on the business as usual work of keeping existing customers happy.

Since our last newsletter we have issued over 100 enhancements including incremental enhancement releases to the existing product suites. Read more>>

MARKETING NEWS

A busy year in Greentree marketing

As 2007 draws to a close the timing seems right to quickly reflect on two high profile initiatives implemented during the year.

GT Engineering

Back in March, we all ‘Unleashed our businesses' with the help of the infamous green dog. GT3 was not just the name awarded to the flashy new look and feel for the Greentree interface, it was also a celebration point for all of the wonderful functionality that had been recently added to Greentree. This included QC module, QlikView for Greentree, Business Analyst and Data Import Manager.

The release of GT3 came with a guarantee that it was definitely not a static point and there would be no waiting for the industry typical “next year / until the next release” scenario. Greentree is pushing ahead with its continuous product improvements and other major initiatives throughout 2008. GT3 created the platform for Business Process Management and Mobile Applications – both of which will be fully realised during the year.

e-nhanced
The halfway point of 2007 saw a revised Greentree website released. The ‘fully loaded’ version got a new look and feel and includes all the new collaterals, industry categorisation and focus for customer success story pages, new banners and many other enhancements too numerous to mention. Two new key areas worth highlighting would be the Greentree Difference and Greentree Solution Gateway pages.

Greentree’s website is arguably more engaging and interactive with intuitive navigation. We aim to keep the site up-to-date with relevant and topical news, collateral and information. Do contact us on newsletters@greentree.com if you have some news you think might be suitable for our website. We hope you agree the ‘look and feel’ and enhanced content of both Greentree and the Greentree website have added considerably to both their appeal and usability.
