Estimating, calculating and quoting labour costs are core business activities for Armflame, a gas and pipe installation company in Queensland, Australia. With over 30 field staff covered by multiple pay and award agreement, the calculation of labour is complicated. Proper labeling plays a big part in inventory management. An organisation that maintains individual stock items can benefit from correct labeling. The ability to clearly read scanned items makes it much simpler to detect mistakes as well as to prevent any errors from happening in the first place, thus reducing the possibility of a breakdown in the system. Greentree's new inventory label printing function enables users to print item labels automatically from any programme enabling receipts. Such programmes include Purchase Order Receipt/Shipment Entry, Accounts Payable Invoice Entry, Factory Orders Receipt Entry, Inventory Transaction Entry and Kitset Make-to-Stock programmes. Labels can be printed in duplicate based on a received quantity. It could also be printed singularly where an item is packaged in such a way that only one label is required, e.g. a pallet label. Standard receiving labels cater for the output of item & receipt transaction detail, barcodes, location, and serial/lot data. Retail labeling is also supported via this feature, with the inclusion of a standard retail label that outputs an item price. Labels may also be customised to meet the specific requirements of the organisation. While there are lots of discussions around major projects such as Business Process Management and Mobile Applications, the wheels continue to turn on the business as usual work of keeping existing customers happy. Since our last newsletter we have issued over 100 enhancements including incremental enhancement releases to the existing product suites. Read more>> |
