 Project Communication - fantastic example
As we all know good internal communication is critical to a successful system implementation - so we wanted to share this fantastic example. With Nilsen's kind permission here is their first internal Greentree project newsletter
Why do we think it's so good.....
- It exists... you'd be surprised how many companies don't communicate! Just taking a step like this demonstrates management vision and commitment.

The Launch of
Enabling Pty Ltd
 Four of Australasia’s top SME financial and business software service providers (Orchid Business Solutions, Online Business Solutions, and Accsoft, of Australia, with Enabling Technologies Limited in New Zealand) have merged to capitalise on their collective experience and individual strengths, and make the most of greater market opportunities.
With 90 staff, the combined entity, Enabling Pty Ltd, now has the critical mass to work on bigger, more complex business without compromising their commitment to existing clients. The deeper pool of expertise means that a wider scope of work can be tackled effectively, with dynamic teams of the most appropriate people for specific projects being drawn together from around the business.

 Greentree veteran
has a Capital idea
Chris Healey, a long time member of the Greentree family, recently announced the purchase of Datacom's Greentree business unit. The name of his new business is Capital IT.
Chris originally started supporting CBA and then took the leap of faith to be one of the first Greentree trained consultants. Chris’ passion and enthusiasm for the Greentree product saw him involved in many of the early Greentree implementations where he earned the status of being one of the Greentree Pioneers. |

SellAgence opts for local solution over
tier-one Oracle Greentree selected as replacement for E-Business Suite
SellAgence, a provider of market management services for manufacturers, has ditched its existing Oracle E-Business Suite software and replaced it with a solution from local business management software vendor Greentree.
SellAgence’s new Greentree business software is a full suite, backed by a financial base, and incorporating inventory and a business intelligence system. It was implemented two months ago at a fraction of the cost of the existing system, says Mark Emirali, IT systems manager of SellAgence.

  GT3, it's not a car...
The Channel article

After four years of development business software specialist Greentree has unveiled its latest version - GT3. Greentree Marketing Manager Paul French says that GT3 is much more than just a version release. "It's not just a static release, as Greentree are pushing ahead with continuous product developments. GT3 creates a platform for business process management and mobile applications, both of which will be progressively rolled out, " he says.

Website update
We’re extremely pleased to have launched the new Greentree website. Much of the style and content has been re-furbished and enhanced. The look and feel across the board is fresh and dynamic and the messaging continues to align itself more with the customer perspective. Some of the key areas which benefit from new content and the new look are the customer story pages, the product overview page and the product information landing pages. See it!
 Product brochures
We have released the new Greentree product brochures with a mixture of new look and new content. We'd like to extend a special thanks to the customers who are quoted in the brochures.

 Gateway and beyond
The new Greentree Solution Gateway is also in place on the new website and ready to be used as a key navigation and interactive tool.
There's just so much in the Greentree product that we had to find a better way to illustrate that!

Distinctly Greentree
 Peter Dickinson was recently interviewed for a marketing website but that "dog" took all the glory again. Peter emphasised "There are two keys for us with our marketing - the approach and the message. Our marketing approach is driven by the need to achieve 'memorability', which has several elements.
Firstly, being well targeted, understanding that marketing to everyone is like marketing to no one. Second, having a clear message that is all about the customer - in my experience if a customer wouldn't say it for you, it is probably not true.

 Kiwi-Saver payroll
Payroll has been updated to accommodate the new Kiwi Saver changes. An interface file will be loaded during the packing process with the new fields required by the IRD, this is to be used from the 1st of July.
The Inland Revenue reporting configuration has also changed to allow deduction transaction types to be selected for Employee contributions, and Employer cost transaction types to be selected for Employer contributions. These amounts are shown on the report. A maximum percentage rate for the Kiwi Saver has been added to the Other tab.

 Autoscan released
Greentree has released Autoscan, a low-cost, fully integrated and easy to use electronic document management system. Source documentation such as accounts payable invoices, proof of deliveries, etc. are stored electronically and then the files are fully cross referenced to the relevant Greentree document using barcodes. These barcodes can either be automatically generated from Greentree or preprinted. The system allows for bulk scanning and processing, Greentree will automatically separate and file each image, making the job quick and easy and original documents become instantly available for queries. It’s time to recycle those filing cabinets!

 Approvals and Alerts
- so many benefits!
We are seeing Approvals & Alerts now being used in a wide range of situations and providing real customer benefits. Even better, we are seeing an unplanned bonus – less need for development!
In numerous situations where a customer has requested that we develop an enhancement, we have been able to effectively show that the capability required can easily be achieved by using Approvals & Alerts to define a rule and apply it.
What can we do with Approvals & Alerts has now changed to “what can’t we do with Approval & Alerts!” Make sure you explore the power provided by the Approvals & Alerts module.

 Purchase Order Shipments
This will make many Greentree customers happy! A new button, "Reverse Receipts", has been added to the Shipment tab of this form, to enable receipts generated from shipments to be reversed so that the shipment reverts back to its original status prior to any receipts. This does NOT include receipts entered via the PO Receipt Entry menu option.

 Job Cost Bulk Proforma to Invoice
This new capability is designed for companies that manage multiple jobs for many customers that may span many billing periods. In the past these organisations would have to generate each job’s invoice manually, check, adjust and then process. Now these invoices can be generated as proformas in bulk, before final checking, adjustment, approval and processing, resulting in considerable savings in effort and time.

 Create/Update Supplier from FREE
The functions to do this have undergone a complete makeover to now support all the information needed to create a new supplier record or to update an existing one.

 CRM updates from FREE
We have now created the framework to support multiple Excel add-ins, the first of which is the soon to be released CRM XLA. The CRM XLA provides the facility to import Quotes directly into Greentree’s CRM Sales and Marketing module and includes the functionality to import Job type quotes, with Employee, Activity, Inventory and Sales lines.

 Date Based Foreign Exchange
This new capability has been under development and extensive testing for some months now due to its large volume of entry points in Greentree. It will shortly be available and will allow all customers who have the Foreign Currency module to set up multiple Foreign Exchange rates for the same currency sets with a unique effective date.
The benefit of this is that as new transactions are created the system will automatically utilise the exchange rate based on the document or posting dates, as defined by the customer. The existing structure for exchange rates remains unchanged for sites electing to remain with non date based foreign currency exchange. |

 Advanced Password Management
Enhancements have been made to security login functionality. This capability will control password access and impose rules and restrictions to improve the general security of operating Greentree for customers.
Including the ability to:
- Setup the system wide password syntax format
- Specify the number of previous passwords and reuse
- Specify the number of entry attempts for login
- Specify a period of expiration in days for a password
- Set up complex passwords
The security password login functionality also encompasses FREE user Login. |

 The Green Dog does care!
Some of you may have read about the NZ Oxfam 100km walk and the Greentree team of Deborah, Graham, Janice and friend Diana (plus of course the Greentree dog and enthusiastic support crew) were part of the 700 people that took part in this fantastic fundraiser.
After a gruelling 27+ hours the team was exhausted, but thrilled to have raised over $5000 for Oxfam. For privacy reasons (hey - who looks good after 27 hours walking) many of the photos are not publishable but here's one from taken at the end of the race. |

Jade are going full steam with over 57% of their revenue now coming from export. These good results have enabled Jade to increase their R&D spend by 11% and Jade and Greentree are working closely on a number of joint projects. Here's just a few of their recent successes...
 Jade launched in India
CMC Limited, (previously IBM India and now part of the massive Tata Group) has entered a strategic partnership with Jade to take both Jade Technology and Jade applications into the Indian market and beyond. Whilst CMC with its 3500 staff is not quite the scale of Greentree this is great market progress news for Jade.

Port Applications by the container load!
Jade Software have been getting significant local and international traction with their Jade Master Terminal ports application. A recent sale to the Polish Port of Gdansk has this software now running 20 large ports around the world. Interestingly the Gdansk port is brand new and will be the most Easterly ice-free port in the Baltic and will grow to handle 1 million containers per year. Full details here.

Strong financial result
With significant sales into the Port, Health and Financial sectors in particular Jade's financial results have been strong.
